What you need to know

Where will class be held?
Our classroom will be located at 5879 County Rd 34 Platteville, CO 80651. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to receive your materials and fill out the required paperwork.
Is there a range on-site?
Yes, we have a small on-site range. For longer-distance lanes or in the event of inclement weather, the class location may be moved from our on-site range to another facility.
What should students bring to the class?
Students should bring the following items with them the day of class:
- Black or blue ink ballpoint pen plus a couple of sharpened, old school pencils OR mechanical pencils with sufficient lead and eraser.
- Notebook for taking notes.
- 3-ring binder (2-inch minimum / 3-inch recommended) IF using hardcopy of learning materials
- Small package of 5×8, 6×9 (or similar size) index cards (you’ll need about a dozen or so cards)
- Highlighter pen
Under no circumstances will anyone, including law enforcement officials, will be allowed to bring in live ammunition into the classroom. All concealed handguns will be required to be checked at the door and unloaded. NO LIVE AMMO IS ALLOWED IN CLASSROOM. On range days, firearms will need to be in a case unloaded and checked by an instructor prior to starting for the day. All ammo must be separate from the firearms until told to do so by an instructor.
Do you offer firearm rentals/sales?
We offer limited firearm rentals and ammunition sales, available with prior notice and acknowledgment.
What are the requirements to get a concealed carry permit?
Colorado law requires a certified class taught by a certified instructor(s) and to register with the county the currently reside in. More details will be discussed in our CCW class.

Who will be teaching the courses and what are their certifications?
Your instructor will be:
Brett Ratner: 50+ years of firearms experience and has NRA instructor credentials for Basic Pistol, Basic Rifle, CCW, RSO, and PPITH
Do you offer private lessons?
Yes. Please contact us if you wish to hold a private class.
Do I have to sign a waiver?
Yes. Once you register for your class, a waiver will be sent for you to fill out. We require a waiver for every student, and the waiver must be signed before you can attend a class.
Do you accept walk-ins for classes?
No. If you are interested in taking a class, you must register and pay through our online scheduling system. No walk-ins will be accepted.
What if class is cancelled?
If a class you a registered for is canceled, we will reach out to you by phone at least 24 hours before you’re scheduled to arrive. If we cannot reach you by phone, we will send an email. Payments for canceled classes will not be refunded, but rather rescheduled for a different day and time.
What if I can't make it to class?
If you are unable to attend class, please inform us via email at least 24 hours before you are scheduled to arrive. We will attempt to reschedule your appointment at that time. If we do not receive sufficient notice, we reserve the right to retain your payment.
